Q1: How is a mould used to make complicated solid shapes?

We talk about water freezing, but this is just a special word for a liquid changing into a solid.

For all other liquids we use the word solidifying instead of freezing, but it is the same thing.

We can make use of melting and solidifying to work with many solids. We heat them up until they melt, then pour them into moulds and allow them to cool and solidify in the shape of the mould.
