If you look at some mountains, such as the Alps, you will see many tall peaks. But if you look at places such as Antarctica, there are almost no peaks.

Does Antarctica have no mountains? No, the ice in Antarctica is so thick the peaks are buried under it!

This great thick sheet of ice is called an ice sheet. It is what the UK looked like in the last Ice Age
