  A Hindu way of life
Hindu worship is about more than gods and stories, it is also a guide for living in harmony with the world around us.
Because God is everywhere, worship is a part of everyday life/ Instead of going to a mandir at a set time each week or each day, Hindus worship whenever they feel the need to. Because the Hindu gods and goddesses are everywhere, honouring them is woven into everyday life in many ways.
For example, a school student may worship the goddess Saraswati, goddess of wisdom and the arts. Worshipping the

goddess before an exam helps the student to focus on wisdom and their own ability. After
the exam, the student also thanks the goddess through worship.
At other times, people may worship in order to ask a god or goddess to help them. For example,
if a husband and wife want a child, they might
worship Chandra, the

Hindu values
Hinduism is more than a way of worship, it is also a way of everyday living. For example, Hinduism teaches the principle of non-Violence, which prohibits harming any animal. This is why many Hindus are VegetaRian.
Many Hindus also believe that the cow is a living symbol of Mother Earth. Cows are also seen as symbols of Krishna, the eighth avatar of Vishnu,
