 The Mahabharata stresses the horror of war and the teachings of the Hindu dharma. One section of the Mahabharata, called the BHagVad gita, is one of the most popular stories in Hinduism.
Bhagvad Gita
The words Bhagvad Gita mean ‘song of God’. This section of the Mahabharata contains a discussion between Lord Krishna and the hero Arjuna about human nature and the purpose of life.

The Bhagvad Gita begins as Arjuna
and Krishna are riding out to battle. As Arjuna looks at the opposing armies and sees his relatives, teachers and friends fighting on either side, he is heartsick at the thought of killing these beloved persons. He turns to Krishna for advice. Through their discussion, Krishna describes how to achieve moksha through duty and devotion to God.
Ramayana
The Ramayana, which means ‘the Romance of Rama’, is made up of 96,000 verses
in seven chapters. It tells the life story
of prince Rama of Ayodhya, the seventh avatar of the god Vishnu, whose wife Sita
