G 2 Look into the distance of this picture of the Cornish coast and notice how hard rocks make a headland. In the foreground, the sea is attacking the cliff by wearing away the weaker parts.
3 In this picture, of the Gower near Swansea, a headland is made of sloping layers of hard rock. This picture was taken at low tide. You can see the high tide line as a ‘stain’ on the rocks in the foreground. Notice there is no beach.
