Q1: Is a shadow always bigger than the object that made it?

[Answer]

If an object blocks light rays, then there is a dark area behind it. This is a shadow. The shadow has the same general shape as the object that blocks the light.

If you stood in the shadow you would see the object as a black outline against the light. This is a silhouette.

Shadows are always bigger than the object that made them, but their size changes depending on how far away the shadows fall.
