Q1: When you look in a mirror, how far behind the mirror do you appear to be?

[Answer]

A mirror has a flat, shiny surface that is very good at bouncing light. Most mirrors are made of glass with a silvery coating on the back.

When you look into a mirror you see yourself turned around. You also appear to be the same distance behind the mirror as you are in front of it. This is called a reflection.

You can only see things in a mirror because the light bounces off it cleanly.
