Q1: What are the petals of a flower for?

[Answer]

Plants produce new seeds by flowering.

Inside the flower's petals are two parts, one male, the other female.

The male part produces pollen grains. Then the pollen waits for the wind or an insect to carry the pollen to the female parts of other plants.

At the same time, the female part of the flower waits for pollen from other plants to arrive.
