When seeds germinate, they will only produce healthy plants if they have room to grow. But they need some help with this. Unless they get help, all of the seeds would fall together on the same spot. This would not give them the chance to grow properly.

Some seeds get help from the wind, some from water, some catapult their seeds away, while others hitch a ride inside or outside animals.
