Sometimes solids grow regularly in the most beautiful ways. Then we call them crystals.
A snowflake is made of many crystals of ice that have grown out to produce a star which always has six points.
Sugar and salt are also crystals. The most famous crystals are precious gemstones, such as diamonds and rubies.
