You will need a hand lens, some sugar and some salt for this.

Spread out a tiny amount of salt on a dark card. Look at it with a hand lens.

You should find that the crystals are in the shape of tiny boxes (cubes).

Now do the same for sugar. Are the crystals the same shape as the salt?
