Thutmose III has been called the Napoleon of ancient Egypt because he fought and won many battles and had them recorded in great detail on the inside temple walls at Karnak.
The most important god to Thutmose was Amun, the god of Karnak temple. At this time the temple had many additions because the wealth of the spoils taken in battle were partly spent on the temple.
His most famous battle was winning at Megiddo after a long siege. At the end he took 894 chariots, 200 suits of armour, 2,000 horses, 25,000 other animals and a large number of slaves.
