Most people didn't travel much. But a few people were traders, carrying things such as pottery and bronze axe heads from places where they were made, to the people who wanted them. How did they do this?
It was difficult to go overland as there were no roads. So, if people wanted to get about they often used boats. Most everyday boats were either small dug-out canoes, but at this time the first sea-going rowing boats were made, letting the British trade with Europe.
