small families as we do today, but as a community of related people. This meant that each little farm was a mass of children and adults, as well as the animals that were kept in the home overnight. 
In the Bronze Age, for some reason we do not know, people started a new fashion  round homes. A typical house was 10 m or so across. That’s big  big enough to get a couple of dozen people in.
