Q1: Why did Bronze Age homes need two rings of posts to hold the roof up?

[Answer]

In these times, people did not live in
small families as we do today, but as a community of related people. This meant that each little farm was a mass of children and adults, as well as the animals that were kept in the home overnight.

In the Bronze Age, for some reason we do not know, people started a new fashion – round homes. A typical house was 10 m or so across. That’s big – big enough to get a couple of dozen people in.
