Q: What is different between how people dressed in the 1960s and in the 1970s?

During the 1970s it became popular for homes to have central heating. As a result, people started to wear very different clothes because they did not need such heavy clothes to keep themselves warm. Many people also travelled by car and long overcoats were awkward in a car. Shorter coats became the rule. Many men still wore hats in the 1960s; hardly any men wore hats in the 1970s.

There were many changes in fashion as people wanted to keep up with the things they saw on TV.
