For the first time in history, the needs and ideas of the young people – the teenagers – were being listened to.
Most people went in for fairly normal fashions, including the infamous beehive hairstle made popular by pop stars and stars in Star Trek!
For some young people, it was a time of local war. Some gangs (based on office workers) dressed smartly and became 'mods' (modernists) while gangs made of factory workers become 'rockers' (fans of rock and roll music). Their war was fought on the roads and beaches of Britain during the early 1960s.
