The end of the 1940s and the start of the 1950s was a period just before real change. So it is worth looking at what life was like just around the turn of the 1950s.
What we find is that parts of the old remain, while new things are beginning to push ahead. The farming video captures all of this well. What we see today is really a development of what was started then. People were just setting out on a great adventure – but they didn't know it.
