Many maps don't show what happens under the sea. This is a pity because this is where we find the world's longest mountain chains and tallest volcanoes!
The mountains run down the middle of the oceans, but because the oceans are so deep, we can only see the tips of the highest mountains. To us they seem just small islands!
Hawaii and Iceland are two of these.
