More and more land has been turned into farmland. This means there is less and less wilderness.
But we do not need all of the land we have made farmland. This is especially true of hills and mountains and wetlands. None of these lands grow crops well.
They can be turned into wilderness again easily: just keep people out and leave the land alone. Nature will do the rest – if we simply give it time.
