The seaside is at threat from too many people. In time, our entire coast might be lined with houses and hotels. If this is not the future we want, we have to plan to stop it now.
It is right that people should live by some coasts, but wildlife, and those who love the country should also have undeveloped coast to enjoy.
It is all a matter of balancing interests.
