* Light travels in straight lines and makes shadows behind objects.
* Mirrors bounce back, or reflect, the light in just one direction, and then we can see objects clearly.
* Most other surfaces scatter light back in many directions, so we see them as bright and coloured, but we cannot see reflections in them.
* Our eyes take in light rays just like a camera. Sometimes the lenses in our eyes need help in focusing and then we use glasses.
