Q1: What is a common type of forcemeter?

[Answer]

A force, such as pulling or pushing, will make something go faster or slower, make it go in a new direction, or change its shape. For example, we might drag a chair across a room – a pulling force. Or we might squash a ball – a pushing force.

To measure some of these forces we use a simple spring connected to a scale. This is a forcemeter. There are forcemeters all around us – we call them scales.
