Make a 'beanarium'.
Beans grow quickly in a jar filled with cotton wool and you can see the changes every day.
To see how a bean grows, put some cotton wool in a glass jar. Place a few beans against the sides of the jar, about half way up the side. You should have enough cotton wool in the jar to hold the beans firmly in place. Use a pair of tweezers to help you put the beans in nicely. Put them with one end up.
Now add water until there is about 2cm in the bottom of the jar. The cotton wool will soak up moisture and make the beans wet.
If you put different types of beans around the sides of the jar you can see which beans emerge first.
