Q1: What is a life cycle?

[Answer]

Every living thing, whether it is a human being like us, a tree or a microbe, shares one thing in common – they all go through the stages of growing up, getting older and dying. This is called a life cycle.

The time it takes to complete a life cycle varies – our average life is nearly 80 years, but some trees' life cycles are several thousand years, while a microbe's life cycle may be just a few minutes.
