A mixture is a combination of two or more substances. You can mix solids, like powders, you can mix liquids like orange juice and water, and even solids and liquids, like coffee, sugar and water.
When you mix two liquids the mixture is called a solution. Sometimes, when you mix a solid and a liquid, the solid seems to disappear into the liquid. We then say the solid has dissolved in the liquid – coffee dissolves in water.
