As we have seen, plants and animals all live together. How can they do this when plants are food for plant-eating animals and these, in turn, are prey for hunting animals?
The answer is that animals can only live if enough plants carry on growing, so if the animals over-eat the plants, they have too little food and they die back. The plants then have a chance to recover again.
The world is full of checks and balances like this.
