The most famous dinosaur ever was Tyrannosaurus rex (often said and written as T. rex). But it was not alone. It was not even the biggest hunter.
Most hunting dinosaurs are called theropods (meaning beast-feet). The hunters could only eat meat, not plants, so they had no choice but to eat other dinosaurs, or other animals such as fish.
Hunters had three toes, huge heads with long, pointed teeth, and short, thick tails. They kept their heads down most of the time, but reared up to fight.
