Blood looks red to us but what would it look like if you could go inside it?
Imagine that you could shrink down until you were just a thousandth of a millimetre tall. You would be small enough to travel in the tubes that carry blood around the body. But you would not see a red liquid. In fact the liquid is pale yellow. It is what is travelling in the pale yellow liquid that makes it seem red. These are blood cells.
