Vikings were mostly ordinary farmers. They did not have lots of money and they had to make most of the things they wore and used.
Most of their clothes were made from wool, using the coat (fleece) of their own sheep.
Women spun and then wove the wool and finally made it up into clothes that were warm in winter.
The dyes used to colour the clothes were made from plant juices.
