Q1: Where do the names of some of our weekdays come from?

[Answer]

Vikings began as pagans, that is they worshipped many gods.

They thought of their gods as superhumans, much like the Romans and Greeks.

They also believed that if they died in battle they would go straight to the hall of the gods called Valhalla.

We still have the names of some Viking gods in our everyday language. For example, Thursday comes from Thor's day, named for the Viking god Thor.
