Q1: Why did the seaside town grow?

[Answer]

Most seaside towns grew up in Victorian times, thanks to the railways and the invention of holidays.

At the start of Victorian times, most people would never have had a holiday or have been to the seaside.

But as railways made it possible to get to the seaside easily, and more and more people got paid holiday time, so all this changed.
