The forum, a mixture of offices (called basilicas) and temples, was at the centre of the town.
It was a huge open space and at its northern end was a temple raised on a platform. There was an altar in front of the steps.
If you compare this to the Roman Forum you will see that it is very simple, but that makes it so much more like most Romans towns in the empire.
