Now find out about how things changed between Stone Age and Iron Age.

End of topic

The only things that survive from the Stone Age – an age before writing – are the giant stone-built circles, henges and burial chambers.

It is hard to tell exactly what their design was based on, but we can tell it took a huge amount of effort ( over thousands of years in the case of Stonehenge).

Chiefs were buried sumptuously in long barrows or cremated and buried within the sanctuary of the stone circles.
