The Blitz affected nearly all major cities. From 7 September 1940 London was attacked on 57 nights in a row and over a million bombs were dropped on docks, factories and railway lines. The whole center of Coventry was destroyed on one fateful night. Glasgow suffered the worst because it was so important as a center for making ships and weapons.
Bombing was inaccurate, so many bombs fell on houses and hospitals. As a result, over 41,000 civilians were killed during the Blitz.
