The Germans were led by old men. Over the years the Germans found themselves getting poorer and it was even hard to find enough food to eat.

The old leaders did not know how to get out of this problem.

This meant that the German people would listen to anyone who had new ideas and who would be able to give them their pride back.

The person with the new ideas was called Adolf Hitler.
