During the 1960s cars many people found they could afford cars for the first time. So, whereas the roads had been very quiet in the 1950s, the arrival of the Mini, the Minor, the Anglia and the Imp, made driving cheap, and so the roads got busier.
The Mini, in particular, was a fun car to own and drive. However, all of these cars began to rust as soon as they were bought, and parts stopped working after just a few months. But no one knew any better. In any case, it was the age of do-it-yourself motor servicing.
