A part of the year which has its own range of sunshine, rain or temperature is called a season. We all know that we have four parts to any year: spring, summer, autumn and winter. These are our seasons.
We live about half way between the Equator and the North Pole it is called the mid-latitudes. In our part of the world, the seasons are mainly controlled by how much daylight we get and how warm it is that is by the temperature.
