Most people now live in towns and cities. Villages are just places they might go to at a weekend or while on holiday.
Cities are large and they spread, or sprawl, out from a centre.
The centrer is a mixture of old and new, and may have many shops, theatres and so on.
Beyond the centre are the older houses, and beyond them the newer houses and industrial estates.
