A pattern of rivers and their tributaries where they mainly meet at right angles.

A trellis pattern is produced by rivers flowing over parallel bands of hard and soft rock. The tributaries cut into the soft rock, but the main river has more difficulty cutting across the hard rock bands as it links the tributaries.

Instead of looking like the veins of a leaf, trellis patterns look like a trellis fence.
