It's easy to spot meanders from the air, on a map, or if you can get a good vantage point on a valley side.
Not all meanders need to be the same size or shape. Notice here that some bends almost double back on themselves, while others are less pronounced.
The flat floodplain is being used for farming. The valley sides are forested and show as dark green.
