Some people use the word jungle when they mean rainforest. This is NOT correct. The word jungle means an area that has been cleared by people and then left so that it is a tangle of closely-growing plants.
Natural, untouched rainforests are open places where you can walk about relatively easily. Jungles are places where you have to hack your way through using a machete (knife-like blade).
So a jungle is a sign that people have disturbed the rainforest.
