Q1: How tall do emergent trees grow?

When you look across a rainforest, you see that most trees are about the same height. But a few rise above them to be up to 50m tall.

These are called emergent trees because they emerge from the canopy.

They are real giants, but they are not very common. Some of them have roots that splay out at the bottom. They are called buttress roots.
