In Asia there are many islands near to the Equator. The largest of these is Borneo.

Many of these islands are volcanoes, so tropical rainforests only grow around the bottoms of the volcanoes.

Because the islands are separated, many plants and some animals are found on each island that are found nowhere else at all.
