Q1: Which is the most dangerous time for avalanches?

[Answer]

An avalanche is a huge mass of snow moving down a mountainside at speeds of over 300km an hour.

An avalanche begins when a patch of snow slips high up on a mountain. It is most common in spring.

As soon as the snow begins to move, it shakes itself apart and moves like water. Loose snow can also rise into the air like powder. An avalanche can contain millions of tonnes of snow.
