Snow is common in most mountains for at least several months of the year.

Because the snow does not melt, it can build up and make good skiing slopes.

But if a strong wind also blows, the snow is carried horizontally, causing a blizzard. This causes snow to pile up, or drift, blocking roads and even burying houses.
