Q1: Why do waterfalls occur after glaciers melt away?

[Answer]

Big glaciers wear the land down faster than small glaciers. You can't see the difference when the landscape is covered with ice. But at the end of the Ice Age some valleys have been cut much deeper than others.

The streams that flow in these small valleys all fall down the sides of the big valleys, producing many of the world's most beautiful waterfalls.
