Q1: Why is it hard to protect large wild animals?

[Answer]

In large countries where areas have never been occupied by people, such as the Rocky Mountains of Canada and the United States, it is often possible to set aside big areas and keep them undisturbed – as a wilderness. In these areas there are few roads and no building is allowed. People are only allowed in if they hike and then only along certain trails,

This is good for large animals, such as bears and wolves. However, it is not easy to set up a wilderness in small countries such as the UK.
