The seaside is one of the most popular places to live. But it is unsafe to live by cliffs of soft rock or near to coasts that take the full force of storm winds.
It is expensive to try to protect some parts of the coast with walls, and protection in one place only leads to erosion somewhere else.
We need to keep coasts clean, and also to remember that they are home to wildlife as well as us.
