Find real examples of a delta using Google Earth on your computer.

First find the Mississippi delta. (Type 'Mississippi' or 'New Orleans' in Google Earth search.) It is on the southern coast of North America.

Go in close then print the delta.

Now go to Nigeria in Africa and find the Niger delta. It is on the southern coast of Nigeria. Print this, too.

What is different about the shapes of these deltas?
