Force

What is a force? A force is something that causes an object to change shape or move.

Two children testing the force needed to get a yellow block sliding uphill against wood.

A force is usually something like a push or a pull. We have to make things move, or change shape. They do not do it themselves. So, for example, when we squash something or get it sliding down a slope, we are giving it a push, and that push is called a force.
